Project Management has been defined as, "The application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements."  What this means is, that the Project Manager works on behalf of the Owner to achieve the Owner's requirements for scope, schedule and cost.

Project Management involves the overall direction and management of the entire project. This includes financing and marketing as well as design and construction.  Project Management services include scope control, budgeting and cost control, scheduling, contract administration and other services as required by the Owner. 

WPI takes a proactive and dynamic approach to Project Management.  Project Management includes a variety of tasks;

• We gather and analyze information to identify potential avenues for success;
• We work to select the most appropriate design and construction teams based on the needs of each project and strive to build a team environment;
• We identify and control risk, monitor and manage costs and resolve conflicts in a fair and timely manner in order to bring about the successful completion of our projects. 

Throughout the project we maintain close communications with the Owner to ensure he/she is always aware of both the progress of the project and of any risks identified by our team. 

We do not require the Owner to review and approve the details necessary to achieve accepted project deliverables, instead this work is performed by WPI.  Rather, the Owner's direct approval is only required if the project scope, budget or schedule is affected.

We have both extensive practical experience and a solid theoretical background in Project Management.  Milt Walker has over 30 years of practical Design and Project Management experience and is a Project Management Professional, certified by the Project Management Institute. 

WPI's approach to Project Management draws upon the theoretical Project Management concepts of the Project Management Institute and our own prior experience. We feel that our combination of real-world practical experience and a solid theoretical background provides an effective and consistent Project Management method.
